Community Links

Community Links

At Willoughby, we value the importance of developing strong links between the academy and the local community.  Through visits, work experience opportunities and annual school events, we involve our pupils in the local community, to enable them to participate in a practical way and to enrich the academy curriculum.

Working with parents/carers, local residents, the business community and voluntary services teaches Willoughby pupils to become active citizens.

Fundraising Support

We are very grateful and fortunate to have support from local businesses who actively contribute to fundraising activities.  Cummins Corporation have a close partnership with Willoughby and have provided funds for a variety of projects throughout the years including the 4D room, playground and other extended projects. They also support us throughout the year at Easter and Christmas.

During the academic year 2023/2024 Worldwide Fruit (one of the companies who support us with our career's programme) chose us to be their Charity of the year. They raised an incredible £16,000 which was put towards installing a sunken trampoline.

We are very grateful to Witham Hall School for choosing Willoughby to be their charity of the year for 2024- 2025 and 2025-2026

We are also delighted to be Toft's Golf Course Captain's Charity of the year.

Minibus

During 2024-2025 Willoughby Foundation raised £20,000, as a self-help donation towards a new 16 seat wheelchair accessible minibus from Variety Golf
